June 30th 2009 - bindweed b&w

June 30th 2009 - bindweed b&w
Originally uploaded by pudontour

Our garden and greenhouse are riddled with bindweed but I always think the flowers are beautiful, even in b&w.

The best of a bad bunch of panic snaps today.

Panic snapping - sometimes the best way to get a great photo, sometimes not. I ended up upping the contrast and lightness and turning this B&W in the end. Not my best moment.

Rebecca and I took our dogs down to Perran for a beautiful, if noisy, dog walk on the beach. Was a gorgeous evening. Even managed a half of Rattler Pear Cyder at the Watering Hole which was most pleasant. I could have sat there all evening gossiping and drinking. Ah well.

This was taken on the P&S and tweaked a bit. Wished I'd had my SLR but I struggle to juggle it with the dog paraphernalia I have to take to the beach. Not too bad although the camera doesn't cope well with extreme light and dark (I'm sure there's a proper word for that...).

I think this probably will be the last of the asparagus I eat this year - the season must be almost over.

This was a quick snap taken on my D70 when I realised I really must take some photos this weekend. It's a very impromptu photo - the asparagus was just how I'd left it after I'd chopped the woody ends off. I proceeded to wander around the garden, taking photos of the flowers and the new apples but ever since I played with a 35mm prime lens whilst on holiday, my kit lens (18mm - 70mm) just seems a bit rubbish. I will have to drop some very unsubtle hints about my birthday present this year.

I confess also that I didn't take this photo - I found it on my camera.

19/02/09
Luckily the bees moved on the next day. It turns out that they were checking out all the houses in the area before choosing one to move into properly. Ours was probably too dusty.
